Jember, E Java (ANTARA) - Watu Ulo beach in Jember District, East Java Province, has contributed Rp75 million in revenue to the Jember administration during the two-week Idul Fitri holiday season in 2011. The beach was managed by private company CV Masawi during the two-week holiday period, Suprapto, the head of the Jember Regional Income (Dispenda) office, said here on Saturday. "This year, CV Masawil was appointed to manage the Watu Ulo beach for two weeks during the Lebaran (Idul Fitri) holidays, with a contract value worth Rp75 million paid to the Jember regional administration," he said. The beach located at Sumberejo village, Ambulu sub district, is managed by a private company every Idul Fitri holiday season in order to optimize the regional income. "Located around 40 km south of Jember, the beach was always crowded with holiday makers, causing traffic jams along the roads to the beach," Suprapto said.
