Jakarta (Antara) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) summoned relevant ministers and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) Deputy Chief Badrodin Haiti on Saturday to discuss the ongoing conflict between the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Polri. "The President discussed the matter with Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno, Law and Human Rights Minister Yasona Laoly, Police Deputy Chief Badrodin Haiti, and Attorney General HM Prasetyo to find the best possible solution," Tedjo Edi said at the State Palace on Saturday. He said the President wants to enhance positive communication among the KPK, Polri, and the Attorney General's Office. According to him, law enforcement should not be contentious and should not marginalize one party. Minister Purdijatno noted that he would like to mediate between the KPK and the Polri to save the two law enforcement institutions from sparring with each other. (*)
