Prabowo Subianto Believes President Jokowi to Take Best Decisions

Bogor, W Java (Antara) - General Chairman of the Great Indonesian Movement (Gerindra) Party Prabowo Subianto has reiterated that he supported the Joko "Jokowi" Widodo administration and believed the president's decisions on police chief figure and the police-anti graft agency KPK conflict would be in accordance with the people's wish. "So, we briefly touched about his commitment to strengthen the state institutions. We support both Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) which are equally important. Together, we must protect them," Prabowo Subianto said after meeting President Jokowi in the Bogor Palace, Thursday. Prabowo Subianto said he respected whatever decisions to be taken by the president who has received the mandate from the Indonesian people. "I am sure he will prioritize the interest of the Indonesian people, and will choose the best for the national interest," he added. Prabowo Subianto said he has just been elected as president of the World Pencak Silat (Martial Art) Federation. He invited Jokowi to be present in an event to inaugurate the head of state as Main Pencak Silat Warrior. "It's our tradition that every Indonesian president is bestowed with a title as Indonesia's main pencak silat warrior. On the occasion, he will receive the title and pencak silat clothe, and he accepted (the invitation)," he said. Prabowo Subianto and Jokowi, rivals in the last presidential elections, met for one hour in the palace. (*)
