Bogor, W Java - The West Java rainy town of Bogor will establish anti-drug ambassadors involving around 2,000 students and teenagers, organizer of anti-drug campaign spokesman Gatut Susanta said here on Sunday. "The anti-drug ambassadors will be tasked to stage anti-drug campaigns and provide information about the dangers of drugs to their peers both at schools and their neighborhoods," Gatut said. He said the 2,000 anti-drug ambassadors would be inaugurated on November 26, 2011 in conjunction with the Bogor Marching Band Festival, and the establishment of the anti-drug ambassadors would be recorded in tbe Indonesia Record Museum (MURI). According to Gatut, the establishment of the anti-drug ambassadors was an effort of Bogor city administration to reduce the number of drug abusers in West Java. Gatut said that besides forming the anti-drug ambassadors, his party and Bogor police would write around 3,000 books on drugs, "Don't Make Your Mother Cry." "The books will be distributed free to all young people, teenagers, students, and even the people in Bogor to inform them about the danger of drugs," Gatut said. He added that the anti-drug campaign was motivated by concerns that West Java was ranked third in the drug abuse and drug circulation. "Through an intensive anti-drug campaign and its familiarization to the young people and teenagers, as well as the students, they are expected to be well informed about the dangers of drugs and so to avoid it," Gatut said.
