Jakarta (Antara) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla praised those religious figures who helped maintain peace during the general elections in 2014. "All religious leaders in Indonesia were able to promote the message of peace about the importance of good democracy so that the general elections this year could run peacefully without any violence," Kalla said during a Nahdlatul Ulama conference here on Saturday. Present at the congress were, among others, Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo, Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Nahlatul Ulama Chairman Said Aqil Siroj, and Madame Sinta Nuriyah Wahid, the wife of the late former President Abdurraham Wahid.
