PPP Concerned abot Bogor District Head's Arrest

Jakarta (Antara) - The Executive Board of the United Development Party (DPP-PPP) has expressed concern on the arrest of its cadre, Bogor District Head Rachmat Yasin, by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday evening.
"The DPP-PPP executives held a meeting last night and conveyed prayers, so that Rachmat has the strength to the face the legal process by the KPK," Irgan Chairul Mahfiz of the DPP-PPP stated here on Thursday.
The KPK investigators arrested Rachmat, who is also the chairman of PPP for the West Java branch, at his residence in Tamah Yasmin Housing complex, Curug Mekar village, West Bogor sub-district, at 7:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday.
Earlier, the KPK officials arrested M. Zairin, the head of Bogor's Agricultural and Forestry Service, and FX Yohan, a private company employee, in Sentul area. The corruption eradication agency found cash worth one billion rupiah.
They have been taken into custody over a case involving the extension of a master plan permit for the development of Bogor, Puncak, and Cianjur areas.
The KPK also questioned Rachmat's driver and adjutant as well as a company staff member at 9:00 p.m. local time.
Irgan, who is also the deputy chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR)'s Commission IX on people, health and manpower affairs, was optimistic that Rachmat will have the strength and be strong to face the legal process by the KPK.
He remarked that Rachmat will face the legal process in his capacity as the Bogor district head and not as the chairman of PPP for the West Java branch. (*)
