18 People Killed in a Boxing Riot in Papau

Biak (Antara) - At least 18 people were killed with score of other people seriously injured in a riot after a boxing championship in Nabire, Papua on Sunday night. The riot was triggered by a controversial decision of the referee against the host pugilist, in the Nabire Regent 2013 Boxing championship, witnesses said. The bodies of the dead victims, which were dominated by women making up 13 with men making up 5 have been evacuated to the Nabire hospital for medical report. Those suffering injuries are being treated at the hospital. (*)
