Jakarta (ANTARA) - Seven more patients tested positive for coronavirus in Indonesia on Wednesday, with most of them having contracted the infection abroad, a government spokesman for the handling of COVID-19, Achmad Yurianto said. "As of Wednesday, (we have) seven, more patients, with most of them suffering mild to moderate illness, except patients, who are identified as cases 29 and 30, with moderate illness. All of them are imported cases (of coronavirus)," he said in the Presidential Palace compounds in Jakarta Wednesday.
The seven patients were identified as cases 28 to 34, he said.
Based on the latest developments, the patient identified as case 25 died Wednesday, while the patients, identified as cases 06 and 14, recovered and were discharged from the hospital to undergo quarantine in their respective homes, he said.
As of Wednesday, 31 patients with COVID-19 infections are still in isolation at the hospital.
All the seven patients are Indonesian citizens, he said.
The new patients include a 37-year old male, identified as case 28, with mild-to-moderate illness, a 51-year old male, identified as case 29, with moderate illness, and an 84-year old male, identified as case 30, with moderate illness.
The others are a 45-year old female, identified as case 31, with mild-to-moderate illness, a 45-year old male, identified as case 32, with mild-to-moderate illness, a 29-year old male, identified as case 33, with mild-to-moderate illness, and a 42-year old male, identified as case 34, with mild-to-moderate illness.
The patient, identified as case 25, died Wednesday at around 2 a.m., Yurianto, said at the Presidential Palace. The 53-year-old patient was suffering from pre-existing illnesses, he noted.
"This patient was admitted to the hospital in a serious condition with pre-existing diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary issues, and chronic obstruction. This patient was a foreign national. The embassy was updated since the start, and now the process is underway to send her back to her country, as she was accompanied by her husband during treatment," he added.
