Prabowo Praises His Rivals Jokowi and Kalla as Patriots

Solo, C Java (Antara) - Presidential candidate Probowo Subianto praised his rivals Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla (Jokowi-JK) as the nation's best sons and patriots. "Jokowi and Kalla are our brothers," Prabowo said during a campaign in Sukoharjo's Madugondo Square, Central Java, here on Thursday. Therefore, Prabowo reminded his supporters not to have excessive passion. "You may have passion, but you must not create hatred," he added. He reminded his supporters to refrain from being pitted against each other. "We have different programs, opinions, and styles, yet we should not be over-passionate, which could create hostility and conflict," he stressed. Prabowo, who is running for president with his mate Hatta Rajasa, advised his supporters that they had better give in. "But we should not give in with regard to the principles of serving the public," he expressed. He explained that there were indications that foreign forces were trying to ruin the country, maintaining it as a "milking cow," where its natural resources were absorbed, where its people were made cheap laborers and were forced to buy foreign goods. "But we should not blame foreign parties. Instead, we should introspect," the presidential candidate affirmed. (*)
