Biak, Papua (Antara) - The National Narcotics Board (BNN) of Papua province has said that six districts in the province were prone to drug smuggling through the sea route, noted BNN spokesman Eko Tunyanan. "The districts of Jayapura, Keerom, Merauke, Supiori, Boven Diegol, and the city of Jayapura are prone to drug smuggling through the sea route," Eko stated here on Monday. Accordingly, he has called on the district governments and security officials to keep a close eye on the sea routes to detect any smuggling incidents. Eko remarked that he has also encouraged the local communities in the six districts to help security officials to curb drug smuggling activities. "The people who happen to spot suspicious transactions should immediately report it to the local security officials, so that the strongest possible action can be taken against the culprits in accordance with the existing rules and regulations," he emphasized.
