Bojonegoro, East Java (Antara) - Vice President Boediono is scheduled to visit Bojonegoro, East Java, to observe the development project of Cepu Block on Thursday, an official has stated. Bojonegoro district government official Hary Kristanto noted, here on Wednesday, that before observing the Cepu Block, the vice president will inaugurate the construction of a double track railway in the district. He added that the vice president and his entourage will arrive by train at Bojonegoro railway station on Thursday morning to inaugurate the construction of the double track railway. "After that, Vice President Boediono will observe Cepu Oil Bloc Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) at Ngasem sub-district," Hary explained. Meanwhile, Chief Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa noted here recently that the government hoped that the Cepu Block will immediately produce up to 165 thousand barrels per day to boost national energy security. "I think it is not only the government, but all parties are expecting the Cepu Blocks peak production to boost national energy security as its oil reserve stands at 0.5 billion barrels," Hatta explained here on March 11. The Cepu Block in Bojonegoro, East Java, is currently producing 26 thousand barrels of oil per day, while its production will reach its peak of 165 thousand barrels a day in 2015. "According to information that I had received, the peak production can be reached by next year," he confirmed, adding that it would increase national production currently at 814 thousand barrels a day. "What is clear is that the government hopes that the Cepu Block will immediately start its peak production, despite all the challenges," he stated.
