VP Boediono Arrives in Amsterdam for Week-Long Visit

Amsterdam (Antara) - Indonesian Vice President Boediono arrived in Amsterdam on Sunday morning for a week-long visit.
Boediono and entourage arrived at Schipol Airport in Amsterdam at 09.33 a.m. on Sunday by a Garuda Indonesia commercial flight.
He was greeted by Indonesian Ambassador to The Netherlands Retno LP Marsudi upon arrival at the airport.
During his stay, Boediono will attend and address a Nuclear Security Summit to be held in The Hague from March 24 to 25.
The vice president's entourage includes rector of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Pratikno, acting rector of University of Indonesia (UI) Muhammad Anis, secretary of the vice president Mohamad Oemar, director general of protocol and consular affairs at the Foreign Ministry/head of state protocol Ahmad Rusdi and member of the vice president's strategic study team Abdillah Toha.
Boediono will join heads of state/government from 53 countries, the UN secretary general and leaders of four international organizations at the two-day meeting to discuss a follow up to enhanced nuclear security efforts at national, regional and global levels.
The summit will discuss progress achieved in implementing a number of initiatives and commitments agreed upon at the first summit held in Washington DC in 2010 and the second summit held in South Korea in 2012.
At the summit, Boediono will speak of Indonesia's support for nuclear security efforts by, among others, installing radiological portal monitors at the country's seaports, ratifying the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism (ICSANT), and drawing up National Legislation Implementation Kit on Nuclear Security (NLIK)".
While in The Netherlands, Boediono will also meet with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Queen Maxima and give a lecture at Leiden University.
He will also meet with the Indonesian society in The Netherlands. (*)
