Jakarta (Antara) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed here on Thursday that it had questioned Agriculture Minister Suswono in connection with the case of the Integrated Radio Communication System (SKRT) project of the forestry ministry in 2006-2007.
"That is true. He was being questioned in Tegal on Wednesday (March 26)," KPK spokesman Johan Budi stated.
He added that he did not know the exact location of the questioning, but "usually we are helped by the local police."
Johan explained that Suswono had been questioned because of his position as deputy chairman of the House of Representatives' Commission IV from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).
"It (the questioning) was done in Tegal for the purpose of speeding up investigation," he explained.
The KPK has also questioned Tamsil Linrung, a politician from PKS before in connection with the case.
In the questioning on Monday (March 23), at the KPK Building, Tamsil mentioned that Anggoro had made efforts many times to convince House Commission IV to continue the SKRT project.
"(At the meeting with him) Anggoro convinced him that the funds used for the project was G-to-G funds and the House cannot hinder it while showing a letter from the finance ministry to convince him," Tamsil pointed out. (*)
