Beijing (Antara) - Indonesian Ambassador to China and Mongolia Imron Cotan said close ties between Indonesia and China is no threat to any country. "Indonesia sticks to its principle of free and active foreign policy for its national interest," Imron said when asked to comment about the US and Australia spying on Indonesia. Analysts said the spying was believed to be prompted by fears in the United States and Australia that Indonesia has turned to China as new allies. Imron said Indonesia and China are two big countries in their respective regions, needing each other especially economically. "Indonesia is the 15th largest economy and China is the second largest in the world . One is important for the other ," he said. For Jakarta, big and strong China is important to contribute to Indonesia's economic growth and development, he said. "Now , not a single country in the world entirely not dependent on China as the world's second largest economy. Therefore, it is natural that Indonesia is fostering good relations with China," he said. (*)
