Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands (Antara) - The Malaysian government has deported 328 Indonesian illegal migrant workers through Riau Islands' provincial city of Tanjungpinang, a spokesman has said. The migrant workers, consisting of 263 men and 65 women, arrived on the Telaga Express ferry at Sri Bintan Pura port here on Thursday night, task force coordinator of the Indonesian migrant workers Sony said here on Friday. According to Sony, the Tanjungpinang detention centers are now densely populated by hundreds of workers who have overstayed their visas. On Wednesday (Nov 20), Malaysia deported 273 Indonesian illegal migrant workers from Tanjungpinang, he stated, adding that one of them, identified as Syahruddin Abdul Latif (34), hailing from Aceh, died. Syahruddin suffered from high blood pressure while he was working in Malaysia. (*)
