Surabaya, East Java (Antara) - The implementation of bureaucratic reform is still not optimal and thus a hard work is needed for its perfection, according to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. "Bureaucratic reform in an organization is not only about remuneration but that organization must be free from irregularities including corruption by carrying out its tasks in a transparent and responsive way," President Yudhoyono said when giving a directive to prospective military cadets at Bumimoro Naval Academy here on Monday night. The head of state on the occasion asserted that the implementation of bureaucratic reform was not optimal as being expected. He said the government should address the bureaucratic reform, including corruption eradication efforts and overlapping regional autonomy. But the president expressed optimism that the government would continue to address these three problems to make the condition in Indonesia better. President Yudhoyono here on Monday night gave directive to 735 prospective cadets would be inaugurated on Tuesday. The 735 cadets were made up of 238 military cadets, 105 naval cadets, 108 air force cadets, and 248 police cadets. (*)
