Sampang, East Java - An unknown group has attacked shiah Moslems in Sampang on the island of Madura, East Java, on Sunday, killing one of them, police said. "One of the six victims in the incident died," operations chief of the Sampang police resort, Commissioner Alfian Nurizal, said. Five other victims in the incident namely four from the shiah group and one from the attacking group have been wounded and one of the four victims was in critical condition. The incident occurred at around 10am according to the police when the family of shiah leader Tajul Muluk was on the way to visit Tajul Muluk in a prison. Their car suddenly was stopped by a group of people on motorbikes who then scolded the family for being members of wrong teachings. Tajul Muluk has been jailed over a blasphemy case in the Sampang penitentiary. Because of the blockade Tajul Muluk's family then cancelled their visit to the prison and returned home but the motorists followed them and when they came at Nanggernang helmet in Omben, Sampang, a clash happened, Alfian said. The clash attracted other people who do not like shiah members to join. Wielding knives they came to the shiah village in Nanggernang and burned some of the houses of shiah members in the village.
