Semarang (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday inaugurated the Madukoro Flyover in Semarang City, Central Java Province, in the hopes of boosting connectivity and stimulating economic growth in the province.
"We are aware that infrastructure is vital to enhance connectivity, ease traffic flow, and stimulate economic growth," the president remarked in his speech during the inauguration in Semarang.
On that occasion, Prabowo extended his appreciation to all parties who contributed to the construction of the transportation infrastructure.
The president then highlighted the need to ensure that every public infrastructure development is oriented toward the community's interests.
"We must bear in mind that this infrastructure was built using people's money. I would like to reiterate that every rupiah of people's money should be properly utilized for the benefit of the people," he affirmed.

Furthermore, the head of state called on the Ministry of Public Works and other relevant stakeholders to pay special attention to efficiency and quality while constructing infrastructure.
"It is crucial to ensure that everything is built according to the determined specifications while considering efficiency and quality. You must do your best to help the state serve the people to the best extent," he told officials.
He expressed hope that the newly officiated flyover would benefit not only the residents of Semarang City but also everyone inhabiting Central Java.
Closing his speech, Prabowo said he expects the operation of the elevated road to help improve people's living standards.
Constructed between April 2023 and May 2024, the 221-meter-long overpass in the West Semarang Sub-district absorbed Rp198.9 billion (US$12.5 million) of budget.
Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, among others, also attended the inauguration.
