Surabaya, East Java, (ANTARA) - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)deputy chairman Busyro Muqodas said the commission is able to make Rp154.2 trillion from monitoring oil and gas funds being "parked" abroad. "We are not only dealing with corrupters, but also monitoring ministries and institutions concerned with financial management," he said in a discussion at Hang Tuah University (UHT) on Tuesday. In the discussion entitled "Role of Education Institutes in Eradicating Corruption" held at the Law Faculty in Surabaya, he said he found oil and gas funds being parked abroad, because the money the state has received is not as much as the value of the products being produced. "After a verification of the matter, we found a difference of Rp154.2 trillion, and then we confirmed this finding to state oil company Pertamina in 2011 and received a confirmation," he said. With the difference of the oil and gas funds, he said, he has asked Pertamina to withdraw the money to Indonesia and the money has already been deposited to the state's treasury. Another example is financial monitoring at the Ministry of Finance and the House's Budgetary Agency. "We have asked the House to prioritize monitoring to the Finance Ministry, but we have found it at the House's Budgetary Agency," he said. And, he said, member of the House'a Budgetary Agency from PAN Wa Ode Nurhayati who had been declared bribery suspect has allocated the 2011 PPID budget, needs to be investigated soon. "A new suspect is always possible, and therefore Wa Ode needs to uncover everything, and if she did not feel to have joined the theft there would be no worry," the Yogyakarta UII graduate said. Another example is infrastructure monitoring like toll roads, damaged roads and so on. "Therefore East Java is a good example, because I have just signed an anti-corruption integrity pact along with the East Java Governor and East Java regional heads," he said. He praised the governor's attitude of asking all the truck weighing stations in East Java as a preliminary step for the integrity pact. "Later I will also ask for the development of other sectors," he said. (*)
