Surabaya, E Java, (Antara Jatim) -- The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has urged all parties to stay alert for any attempts to foil or delay the Surabaya mayoral election scheduled to be held on December 9.
"The PDIP believes that the attempts will be motivated by unclear interests. Of course, the interests must be anti-people," the chief of the success team of the PDIP's Surabaya chapter, Adi Sutarwijono, said on Saturday.
During its planned visits to political party leaders, the PDIP will emphasize the need to hold the election on schedule.
"This is required because it is related to the city budget that will carry the visions of the elected mayor and vice mayor," he explained.
The visits are also important to develop healthy and creative thoughts to ensure progressive, sustainable and pro-people development of Surabaya city, he remarked. (*)
