Jokowi-JK Team Takes Anticipatory Measures Against Possible Fraud

Jakarta (Antara) - The Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla (Jokowi-JK) presidential campaign team has prepared personnel who will be stationed inside and outside polling station areas to prevent possible fraudulent acts. "The potential for fraud to happen during the election process, vote counting and recapitulation exists," a member of the campaign team of the presidential ticket, Enggartiasto Lukito said here on Sunday. He said the Jokowi-JK hoped the stationing of monitoring personnel could minimize possible fraud and violations of the rule to assure a fair and democratic election. He said the Jokowi-JK camp would station around 3.5 million to witness activities in and outside polling stations across the country. The number of witnesses who would be put inside the polling stations reached 1,135,980 who are cadres of political parties that support the ticket. Meanwhile a total of 2,439,200 witnesses would be stationed outside polling stations consisting of political cadres and volunteers. Enggartiasto said all of the witnessed have been registered by the Jokowi-JK camp while those who would be stationed inside the polling station have also been given a mandate to conduct their activities by the pair's campaign team. "The number of witnesses must be increased in view of a lot of violations and fraud happening during the recent legislative elections," the associate chairman of the National Democrat Party said. (*)
