Megawati Asks Risma Not to Resign

Sidoarjo, East Java (Antara) - The general chairperson of the opposition Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP), Megawati Soekarnoputri, has asked Surabaya mayor Tri Rismaharini following recent rumors not to resin from her post.
"Media is like that. It likes stirring things up," she said at a press conference at Surabaya's Juanda airport here on Saturday.
She said that all problems have been settled by the PDIP central executive board and in view of that she advised Tri Rismaharini to remain firm..
"Let people say anything," she said.
Megawati also advised Risma (Tri Rismaharini) to continue leading Surabaya, which is the country's second largest city and to never resign from her post.
She said that a leader always faces a lot of challenges and so "do not think of anything" but keep working and let people see the results by themselves.
She said all party cadres must work hard and remain solid especially to meet the general elections on April 9.
"Let people see what we have done," she said.
To deputy mayor Wisnu she appealed to accompany Risma and help[ here in carrying out her tasks to develop Surabaya. (*)
