"Investigators have questioned five witnesses named Saipul Junaidi, Adnan Syahrir, Ibnu, Khairu Amri and Sarkawi," the spokesperson of Indonesian Police Senior Commissioner Agus Rianto stated here on Monday. Agus added that two people, suspected to be the perpetrators, took a ride on a motorcycle. However, only one person shot at the NasDem Party post. "The perpetrator first shot outside, then came in to the post and shot back again. There have been no victims in the incident, but the glasses in the post were broken," Agus explained. Agus pointed out that there was also no threat from the perpetrator in the incident. Also, there were no dialogues between the perpetrators and witnesses in the post. Previously, The Secretary General of NasDem Party Patrice Rio Capella urged the police to probe the shooting incident at his party's post in North Aceh District. "We hope that the police will get to the bottom of the mastermind behind this shooting incident, immediately" he commented, in response to the raid at his party`s post, set up to support the campaign of its legislative candidate, Zubir HT. Capella added that the attack was an act of intimidating the NasDem cadres in Munyee Kunyet Village, Matangkuli Subdistrict, North Aceh District, Aceh Province, but he brushed aside any rivalry among legislative candidates. The attack had also disrupted the practice of democracy in the area. "NasDem in Aceh has been taken into account and the fact that Surya Paloh (NasDem`s chairman) is an Acehnese has strengthened primordial ties with the people," he added. (*)
