Bojonegoro, East Java (Antara) - Oil production target from Bojonegoro District of East Java Province, has been set at 22.93 million barrels this year. Oil production of 500-600 barrels per day from the Tiung Biru field was not included in the calculation, the head of the Bojonegoro district income service, Herry Sudjarwo, said. The production in the first five months of the year was recorded at 10.6 million barrels or 46.22 percent of the whole year's target. The crude oil produced from Tiung Biru field, which is operated by state company PT Pertamina, is not included in the calculation as the type of the crude oil is yet being studied and the price is yet to be set, Herry said. "The crude oil produced from the Tiung Biru field is still kept in the Mudi field in the sub-district of Soko, Tuban," he said. Therefore, Bojonegoro oil production ready for sales in the first and second quarters of this year came from the Sukowati oil field, which is operated by Joint Operating Body (JOB) Pertamina-Petrochina East Java (PPEJ), Unitisasi Petrochina, and from the Banyu Urip field which is operated by Mobil Cepu Limited (MCL) and oil oil wells operated by PT Pertamina EP Cepu. Cepu on the border area between East and Central Java has a big reserve expected to boost the country's oil production when it has operated at full capacity. Cepu is jointly owned by Pertamina and Mobil Oil with 45 percent share each with the remaining 10 percent for the district administration of Bojonegoro. Oil production from Banyu Urip fell short of target as it had to halt production from 23 to 25 April as it was undergoing well repair, Herry said . Oil production from the Sukowati field also declined as its oil wells 1,2 and 3 also underwent repair, he said. "We are optimistic that crude oil production in the district would increase in the third and last quarter of this year as the wells have operated normally," he said. (*)
