Jakarta (Antara) - Former youth and sports minister Andi Alfian Malarangeng met a summons of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Friday to undergo questioning as a witness in the graft-ridden Hambalang sports complex construction case.
"Today I will be questioned as a witness for (suspects) Deddy and Teuku Bagus. Whenever I am summoned I always come any time. As I have stated that from the beginning I am ready to cooperate with the KPK to resolve the case," said Andi who arrived at the KPK building at 08.00 a.m.
The KPK last questioned Andi as a witness in the case on January 10 this year. "I follow the legal process and leave (the case) to the KPK," he said when asked about the possibility of the KPK detaining him after it arrested former chief of the planning bureau at the youth and sports ministry Deddy Kusdinar as a suspect in the case on June 14 last year.
Although the KPK named Andi a suspect in the corruption case related to the construction of the sports complex in Hambalang valley, West Java, on December 7 last year, it has not detained him.
KPK spokesman Johan Budi said on Thursday the availability of data from the State Audit Board (BPK) on the amount of state losses arising from the graft case will help the KPK speed up its probe into the Hambalang case.
"The sooner (the data are available), the sooner (the suspect) will be detained," he said.
The anti-graft body for the first time questioned Andi as a suspect in the graft case on April 9 this year.
"I am ready for whatever the KPK will do," Andi said when asked if the KPK would detain him as a suspect.
The KPK also has named operations director of state construction company PT Adhi Karya (persero) Teuku Bagus Mukhamad Noor a suspect in the graft case. (*)
