Jakarta (Antara) - Police are searching 11 prisoners who escaped from a prison in Batam, Riau Islands province, on Wednesday. "The number who fled is actually 12 but one of them has been recaptured," National Police head of public information division Senior Commissioner Agus Rianto said here on Wednesday. He said the prisoners were believed to be narcotic drug convicts. The incident followed a recent jail break in Tanjung Gusta in Medan, North Sumatra in which 220 prisoners had escaped but 103 had been recaptured. (*)
