Bogor, W Java - Indonesia's Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and Malaysia's Mara Technology University (UTM) organized the First International Plantation Conference at the IPB International Convention Centre here on Wednesday. "The theme of the conference is `Capacity Building Development and Sustainable Technology'," IPB spokesperson Henny Windarti said. The conference was attended by researchers, palm oil businessmen, as well as students of the two universities. IPB rector Prof Herry Suhardiyanto said: "The use of sustainable technology in plantation development is an important issue that concerns both IPB and UTM." "I very much appreciate the initiative of IPB's faculty of agriculture and UTM in organizing this conference," he added. (*)
