Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it has investigated cases in which one of its investigators is charged with murder in 2004. KPK has set up a team to investigate allegation against Comm. Novel Baswedan, who is a police officer on loan to KPK, the anti graft agency's spokesman Johan Budi said . Johan said the investigation found that Novel was in his office when the incident took place a village in Bengkulu causing caused the death of a suspected thief. The perpetrator was a member of a police squad Novel sent to protect the swallow's nest thieves trapped in a house from angry villagers, Johan said. Chief detective of the Bengkulu police Sr. Comr. Dedy Rianto came with a police troop to KPK on Friday night to arrest Novel on charge of torturing causing the death. KPK, however, refused to hand over Novel, who is one of its key investigators probing into a corruption cases involving two police generals including Ins. Gen. Djojo Susilo former chief of Police's Traffic Unit. Dedy came only two hours after Ins. Gen, Djoko Susilo, who has been named by KPK a suspect in a Rp198 billion corruption case, left KPK . Djoko, former chief of police's traffic corps was charged with receiving bribe to give a project to an unqualified company for the procurement of a Rp198 billion worth of driving simulators for the traffic corps. "We have information that former chief detective of Bengkulu police now placed at the police headquarter in Jakarta is the one to bring to surface case 8 years ago," Johan said.
