Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto and his administration have demonstrated the social and political wills required to bring Indonesia to its golden era in 2045, former coordinating minister for political, legal, and security affairs Mahfud MD stated.
"Yes, it is true that we are moving toward that goal. We only need to enhance our human resources to complement the evident social and political wills," he remarked at an event commemorating the anniversary of the Alumni Corps of the Islamic Students Association (KAHMI).
Speaking in Central Jakarta on Friday (December 27), Mahfud, who ran for vice presidency in the 2024 elections, highlighted that the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision demands significant improvements in the quality of human resources of the country and a hike in the number of well-educated citizens.
He affirmed that Indonesia is also envisioned to have dealt with most of its poverty-related issues and shot up its per capita income to USD24 thousand by the awaited year 2045.
The former chief justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) then underscored the need for the government to devise and implement strategic policies and steps to boost Indonesia's per capita income, which currently stands at around USD4.7 thousand.
In this regard, Mahfud expressed belief that talented cadres of the Islamic Student Association (HMI) serving at various government institutions wield the capacity to make concrete contributions to the nation through their bright ideas.
Hence, he called on HMI members to support all programs promoted by President Prabowo for Indonesia's golden era.
"Of course, we need to support him (Prabowo) because he has been chosen (as the president). It is important to back the government's efforts," he told the audience.
