Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the Ministry of Manpower have joined forces to launch a nationwide training program aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial skills among Indonesians.
"We have agreed on a major initiative to establish an entrepreneurship training program accessible to people across Indonesia," MSMEs Minister Maman Abdurrahman announced at a press conference in Jakarta on Friday.
He explained that the program would utilize over four thousand training centers operated by central and regional governments, including facilities managed by the Ministry of Manpower.
Abdurrahman noted that the government favors leveraging the existing facilities and infrastructure rather than setting up new ones for the program.
Furthermore, the minister highlighted that those interested in enrolling in the training program would not have to pay any fees.
"Yes, this program will be open to the public. The government's objective is to support those keen on starting a business," he stated.
Responding to the question of which business sub-sectors the program will focus on, Abdurrahman noted that the government would soon decide on that matter.
On the same occasion, Manpower Minister Yassierli expressed full support for integrating his ministry’s training centers into the program.
"It is crucial that we maximize the use of existing training centers. Therefore, we at the Ministry of Manpower fully support the optimization of state facilities," he remarked.
The government is planning to execute the entrepreneurship training program, which targets up to 10 thousand MSMEs, within the next three months through pilot projects.
Under the plan, the MSMEs Ministry will contribute by providing access to its facilities, including co-production houses and the Integrated Business Service Center (PLUT).
