Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Angga Raka Prabowo, has asked all Indonesian citizens to make a real contribution to defending the country, in accordance with their respective fields.
"Our real contribution must be reflected in the aspects of ideology, politics, economy, social, culture, education, technology, defense, and security. Every individual has an important role in the life of the nation and state," he said in a press release issued here on Thursday.
He made the remarks at the commemoration of the 76th National Defense Day at the ministry's office.
He said that currently, there is global uncertainty due to tensions between countries, shifting alliances, increased competition for control over strategic resources, regional conflicts, cyber warfare, and climate change.
Therefore, he emphasized the importance of implementing the Total People's Defense and Security System (Sishankamrata). The system includes anticipation, alignment, update, policies in the defense field, and implementation of appropriate defense strategies.
"Sishankamrata is the best national defense strategy because Indonesia has the advantage of a large population and a large archipelago," he said.
The government has implemented the National Defense Awareness Development Program (PKBN) as part of the mental revolution efforts.
Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto has also emphasized national character development in education, society, and work life in his Asta Cita program.
"This is in line with the Asta Cita (missions) of the Red and White Cabinet, which is to strengthen the ideology of Pancasila and strengthen the development of human resources toward Golden Indonesia 2045," Deputy Minister Prabowo said.
He also listed five basic nation-defending values—having love for the homeland, building awareness about the nation and state, upholding Pancasila, being willing to sacrifice, and having the ability to defend the country.
