Malang, E Java (Antara) -- Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Tedjo Edi Purdijatno said that the simultaneous regional head elections to be held later this year has potential to trigger social vulnerability that could threaten national unity.
"The plan to hold simultaneous regional elections in 269 cities and districts must anticipate this to ensure that they run in an orderly manner, democratically, peacefully, and safely, and that the condition remains stable," Purdijatno said here on Wednesday.
Therefore, all stakeholders must actively participate in maintaining national unity and supervising the implementation of the elections, he emphasized.
Others threats that the nation faces include drug abuse and radicalism, he added. (*)
