Pamekasan, E Java (Antara) - Several parts of Pamekasan city in Madura Island off the northern coast of East Java were flooded on Sunday evening following five hours of rains. The flood inundated Brawijaya Street, Aruk Lancor Monument and Jokotole Street. "Up till now the flood began to inundate the yard of the district administration's office located on Jokotole Street in Pamekasan," local resident Abdurrahim said on Sunday evening. The flood which began to inundate several parts of the city at around 03.30 p.m. on Sunday has shown no sign of receding by Sunday evening, he said. At Brawijaya Street, knee-deep floodwater inundated the yard of the Pamekasan District General Election Commission (KPU), while the floodwater at Jokotole Street and the yard of the Pamekasan district government's office reached a height of 30 cm to 40 cm.
