Floods Inundate Schools and Government Buildings in Pamekasan

Pamekasan, East Java (Antara) - Floods inundated several schools and government buildings in Pamekasan District, Madura Island, East Java Province, following heavy rains that have been pouring since Thursday.
"The current flood is the biggest disaster since the last five years," said Djuhaini, a local legislator, here on Friday.
Several areas being inundated by floods that were triggered by the overflowing of Kalisemadjid River, included Jungcangcang Village, Laden Village, Teja and Jalmak Villages, Gladak Anyar Village, Parteker Village, and Barurambat City.
Three elementary schools were inundated, namely SDN Jungcangcang IV and SDN Jungcangcang V, preventing students from going to school.
Kalisemajid River has overflowed since Thursday and began to submerge several villages on Friday morning. (*)
