LDII Conveys Need for Strengthening of Sharia Economics to President

Jakarta (Antara) -- General Chairman of the Indonesian Islamic Propagators Institution (LDII) Prof Dr. Abdullah Syam said his organization conveyed the issue of strengthening Sharia economics to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) here on Thursday.
Sharia economics involves the attributes of not just Islam but those of all religions because the concept of fairness in the economy benefits all parties, Syam stated after meeting with the president here.
According to him, the concept of justice in the Sharia economy is recognized by many other religious leaders he has met so far.
Therefore, to strengthen the Islamic economy, as well as to meet the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), the LDII will hold seminars in various regions.
Moreover, the LDII, he noted, invited President Jokowi to open the ASEAN Sharia Economic Seminar scheduled to be held in September this year.
"We requested the president to kindly open the Sharia Economic Strengthening Seminar in September," Syam affirmed. (*)
