Jakarta (Antara) -- The Constitutional Court (MK) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have agreed to cooperate in combating corruption in the country. Secretary General of the MK Janedjri M. Gafar and Secretary General of the KPK Himawan Adinegoro signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to that effect at the MK building here on Tuesday. "The MoU between the KPK and MK serves as an important momentum to establish formal cooperation in revealing graft cases in the court. This is our commitment to eradicating the problem quickly," Chairman of the MK Hamdan Zoelva said in his speech. The MoU covers cooperation in data or information exchange, implementing a system of national integrity, informants, socialization, education and training, and research and development. Under the MoU, the two bodies can exchange data or information related to the execution of tasks and authority by maintaining their respective independence. To apply the national integrity system, both sides agreed to promote compliance with the obligation to submit official wealth report forms (LHKPN), to map areas of activities prone to gratification, and to implement a gratification control program. With regard to informants, socialization, and education and training, the MoU requires both signatories to help each other as informants. "Looking ahead, there are bound to be many steps we can work on together, including conducting joint socialization and organizing education and training courses at the MK, wherein the KPK can provide the course material," he remarked.
