Medan (Antara) -- Mass media observer Prof. Dr. Badaruddin, M. A., said that news broadcast by Antara News Agency (LKBN) remains reliable, accurate and complete. "So far, news published by Antara has been fast, important, recognized, and accountable," Badaruddin stated here on Thursday. According to the observer, Antara News Agency must continue to broadcast news that is accurate and reliable so that its presence will be needed by both domestic and foreign news agencies. "Indonesians must be proud that their country's Antara News Agency is very well known in other nations of the world," Badaruddin remarked. He pointed out that Antara should uphold the trust bestowed upon it and maintain itself as a world-class news agency. Moreover, the national news agency is also able to compete with other foreign news agencies in the world. "Antara's commitment to be a world-class news agency must be realized through its quality of human resources and the use of sophisticated tools," the dean of the faculty of social and political sciences (Fisip) of the USU affirmed. Badaruddin further added that international news from Antara was cited by many national daily newspapers and television networks. "Antara's reputation should be maintained and preserved, and its audiences must also be well served," the professor of the North Sumatra University emphasized. (*)
