Semarang, C Java (Antara) - A number of leaders and members of the House of Representatives have donated Rp350 million they raised from their salaries to assist the victims of the landslides that hit Central Java Province. House Speaker Setya Novanto along with Fahri Hamzah, Agus Hermanto, and Taufik Kurniawan (Novanto's deputies) symbolically handed over the fund to Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo here Tuesday. House Speaker Setya Novanto said he highly appreciated Governor Ganjar Pranowo and his administration for their quick responses to the landslides and evacuating and assisting the victims and survivors. "We should also pay serious attention to other areas prone to natural disasters," noted the Golkar Party member. Novanto called on Environment and Forestry Ministry officials to start thinking of relocating people living in disaster-prone areas. DPR Vice-Chairman Fahri Hamzah remarked that fund raising program among legislators were held for two days. At least 64 bodies have been recovered from landslide debris that buried more than 100 people in the Jemblung Hamlet of Sampang Village, Banjarnegara District, Central Java Province.
