Jakarta (Antara) -- Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla has denied that the 2013 education curriculum issued recently will be repealed.
Kalla said that the government will review the curriculum for its better implementation and that its transition period needs to be extended.
"We will not stop, nor repeal, the curriculum. No one said it will be repealed," the vice president stated here on Monday.
According to him, the government will improve some weaknesses in the 2013 education program.
The transition period of the curriculum will be extended to ensure that it is implemented well.
"The correct way to go ahead is to implement the 2013 education curriculum. We will have a year's time to improve the quality of the teachers. We won't repeal the education courses, but will extend it (the transition period) instead," Kalla reiterated. (*)
