Police Personnel Deployed at Scene of Explosion

Bangkalan, E Java (Antara) - A platoon of 30 policemen were deployed at the residence of the Bangkalan district legislative council speaker Fuad Amin Imron on Thursday following an explosion while the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was searching the house. The police personnel from the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) unit arrived at the scene nearly 15 minutes after the explosion. The Brimob personnel who came in a convoy of barracuda cars drew attention from residents who descended upon the street leading to the house. The explosion shocked police officers who were deployed to offer security during the confiscation process and journalists who covered the search on the house on Thursday evening. During the search which began at 09.30 a.m. local time, the KPK seized assets at several locations belonging to Fuad Amin Imron known as the influential figure of Bangkalan district on the island of Madura. The assets included a boutique on Jalan Teuku Umar and his house on Jalan Raya Saksak. Fuad Amin was caught red-handed on Monday night receiving bribe money, KPK Deputy Chairman Adnan Pandu Praja stated on Tuesday. (*) Reported by Abd Aziz
