Surabaya, E Java (Antara) - A Swedish leading company on defense and security industry SAAB is planning to develop fishing industry in Banyuwangi district, East Java, by cooperating with the local firm. Swedish Ambassador Johanna Bismar Skoog expressed the Swedish company's plan during his visit to Banyuwangi on Saturday and Sunday, according to the public relations officer of the Banyuwangi District government in his press statement received here on Sunday. Several countries including Indonesia have used the SAAB's products, the Swedish envoy said, noting that the SAAB in its cooperation with the local company will produce various types of ships. In addition, the envoy said that Sweden is also interested to help develop the green technology in Banyuwangi. "We are impressed with Banyuwangi's (development). Although (Banyuwangi) has just started construction of green town with eco-friendly concept, Banyuwangi has been running well. Our country is superior in applying the green technology and we have discussed this matter with the Banyuwangi Regent," the envoy said. Meanwhile, Executive Vice President SAAB Mikael Olsson pointed out that his company has opened representative office in Indonesia last year and has engaged cooperation with manufacturing company in Banyuwangi.
