Prabowo, Hatta Show Their Class as Statesmen: Legislator

Jakarta (Antara) - Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa, who failed in the July 9 presidential polling have shown their class as statesmen by attending the inauguration of Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla as president and vice president, a legislator said. "Prabowo and Hatta Rajasa have shown their class as statesmen. This is the political culture that is well worth followed by politicians, both at central and local levels in the transition process of government," one of the House of Representatives (DPR) member Almuzammil Yusuf said here on Monday. The presence of Prabowo and Hatta at the inauguration of Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Jusuf Kalla (JK) led to a conducive nuance to new government and investment climate for investors to improve the Indonesian economic growth, he said. Their presence at the inauguration function dismissed some quarters' concerns over disruption of political stability and security, he explained. Appreciation should be addressed to the statesmanship attitude of Prabowo and Hatta, because they have participated in delivering a peaceful transition of the government and secure democracy in the country, Almuzammil said. Joko Widodo was inaugurated as Indonesia`s seventh president and M. Jusuf Kalla as his deputy at the plenary session of the MPR chaired by Speaker Zulkifli Hasan here on Monday morning.
