Jakarta (Antara) - No one suffered gunshot injuries during the brief scuffle that broke out between security officers and demonstrators near the Constitutional Court (MK) which was hearing a presidential election result dispute, the National Police clarified. "We want to clarify that no one suffered a gunshot injury during the brief incident around the Horse Statue circle not far from MK building," Head of the Public Information Center of the National Police's Public Relations, Brig Gen Boy Rafli Amar, said here, Thursday. He denied reports that there were two gunshot victims who were now being treated at Cipto Mangunkusumo (RSCM) Public Hospital. "We have no reports from our officers in the field of any gunshot victim from the brief incident," he added. However, he promised to still investigate the veracity of the claims. There were, however, protesters who suffered from injuries (not from gunshots) in the rally during a Constitutional Court (MK) session hearing the July 9 presidential election result dispute, he admitted. "Regarding reports about injured victims, we will find out the truth. Police will cross check," he said. There were seven demonstrators who were injured during the incident, the Jakarta Police mentioned. "There were seven injured victims during the demonstration and they have been taken to the hospital," Head of the Medical and Health Affairs of the Jakarta Police, Senior Commissioner Musyafak said.
