Bakauheni, Lampung (Antara) - Thousands of cars lined up for as long as five kilometers to enter the Bakauheni ferry port in Lampung, Sumatra, to board a ferry that would take them across Sunda Strait to Java. Cars as well as buses were seen crawling starting from the Garuda Hitam gasoline filling station to enter the port. Normally it takes only around 10 minutes to cover the distance but that morning motorists needed one to two hours. Cars meanwhile continued to come from Bandar Lampung to the port area. The situation had been seen since in the wee hours on Sunday. Although they were not as many as on Saturday the number of motorcyclists queuing to enter the port was still large. According to data of ferry service company PT ASDP at Bakauheni the number of ferry passengers crossing to Java until four days after the fall of Idul Fitri has reached 363,635 while the number of motorcycles 39,841, cars 36,929 and buses 1,199.
