Surabaya (Antara Jatim) - The Keputih welfare home (Liponsos) in Surabaya, is ready to rehabilitate some prostitutes of the Dolly's red-light district which permanently closed on Wedensday, June 18. Head of the Liponsos Sri Supatmi said here Sunday that the Liponsos is ready to accomodate and rehabilitate them if there is a Surabaya Mayor's command. "We are ready to accomodate and rehabilitate the prostitutes who are not willing to move their profession and still survive in Dolly, in spite of the Liponsos'capacity is currently over," she said. She said that the Liponsos has rehabilitated some 26 prostitutes from the Sememi's former red-light district who recently raid by the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP). The Sememi ex-red-light district actually has been closed by the Surabaya local administration, however, there are many of them remain operating. "However, the 26 Sememi's prostitutes hail from Kediri, East Java, have been sent back to their respective hometowns," she said. (*) Reported by Abd Hakim Photographer Suryanto
