KPU Receives Reports on Campaign Funds from Six Parties

Jakarta (Antara) - The central office of General Elections Commission (KPU) here on Sunday received reports on campaign funds from six political parties before participating in general elections on April 9, 2014.
The six political parties are the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party, the United Development Party (PPP), the National Mandate Party (PAN), the Golkar Party (Golkar), the People`s Conscience Party (Hanura) and the Democrat Party (Demokrat).
Commissioner of the KPU Hadar Nafis Gumay said that Sunday afternoon (March 2) was the deadline for all political parties to report their campaign funds.
In addition, the other six national political parties, namely the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), the Crescent and Star Party (PBB), the National Democratic Party (Nasdem), the National Awakening Party (PKB), the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), and the Indonesian Justice and the Unity Party (PKPI) have reported their campaign funds earlier.
The General Elections Commission (KPU) has decided that 15 political parties in Indonesia are eligible to participate in the elections.
Three of them are local parties for the Aceh electorate, namely the Aceh Party (Partai Aceh-PA), the Aceh People`s Party (Partai Rakyat Aceh-PRA), and the Aceh Sovereignty Party (Partai Daulat Aceh-PDA).
The other 12 parties are the National Democratic Party (Nasdem), the National Awakening Party (PKB), the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the Indonesian Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP), the Golkar Party (Golkar), and the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra).
Also included in the line-up are the Democratic Party (Demokrat), the National Mandate Party (PAN), the United Development Party (PPP), the People`s Conscience Party (Hanura), the Crescent and Star Party (PBB), and the Indonesian Justice and Unity Party (PKPI).
"We will make an official report about the political parties including those in the regions that have submitted reports on their campaign funds," Hadar stated. (*)
