Banda Aceh (Antara) - Aceh provincial government wishes to import cows from Australia in order to meet people's need for meat, stated the provincial governor, Zaini Abdullah here on Thursday. "So far, Aceh purchased beef from Lampung province, while Lampung imported cows from Australia. Thus, Aceh now prefers to import cows directly from Australia," the governor clarified. Governor Zaini expressed Aceh's need for cow imports in his meeting with the Australian counselor Laurence Bain and 2nd secretary for legal, political and economic affairs of Australian Embassy in Jakarta Annie Hildebrant. In addition, the governor also invited Australia to invest in cattle breeding in Aceh. "I hope Australia's private sectors will invest in cattle breeding in Aceh," he stated, adding that Aceh is rich in natural resources such as in fisheries and agriculture. Zaini also expressed hope that Australian investors will immediately invest in the western-most province of Aceh. (*)
