Manado, North Sulawesi (Antara) - As many as 19 people have been killed due to floods and landslides in North Sulawesi on Wednesday. "Until now the number of deaths is recorded at 19," head of the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Noldy Liow, said here on Sunday. He said the dead victims were found in the cities of Manado and Tomohon and the district of Minahasa. With regard to the landslide that has cut the road link between Manado and Tomohon he said for the time being the TNI (military) is now building a bailey bridge on the location. He said efforts were now still being made to find possible other victims of the floods and landslides. Several districts affected by floods and landslides on Wednesday are Manado, Tomohon, Minahasa, Minahasa Utara, Minahasa Tenggara, Sangihe islands, and Sitaro islands. (*)
