Denpasar, Bali (Antara) - The international relations expert in Bali Idin Sasika said Miss World 2013 Beauty Contest held in Bali is unbeneficial for citizens in the Island.
"Despite government and Miss World 2013 organizer emphasized that the event would be beneficial for tourism promotion, the event is only prioritize for grown businessmen and political elites," said Sasika who get Master Degree from Department of Political Science of Delhi University here, Monday.
Sasika said the contest only highlighted on body beauty and focusing on women as contest object.
"The event spectators only enjoy the beauty of female body that used elegant fashion style," he said.
According to him, the organizer only focused on the beauty of female body without showing educational activities for the contestants.
He said the contest also does not give real benefit for citizens of Bali as the event seems to be beneficial only for political elite.
"The citizens should criticize the government and organizers if the event is less promoting the tourism and only accentuate woman body as an object," Sasika said.
According to him, the contest only benefits the businessmen and political elites as the name of Indonesia will be increasingly recognized as liberal country in international community. (*)
