Nine from Indonesian Fencing Team Head to Kuwait

Samarinda, E Kalimantan (Antara)- Nine members of the Indonesian fencing team will head to Kuwait to compete in the Asian Fencing Championship U-23 (under 23 years old), scheduled to take place September 20 through 27, 2013. The athletes include Tauhid Ramdhan, Hendrawan Susanto, Khatrin Gea Endrawati, Megawati, Ima Safitri, Reni Anggraini and Novi Susanti, deputy chairman of the Indonesian Fencing Association Muslimin said here on Friday. The organizing committee will also help the athletes to compete, Muslimin added. Muslimin stated that although this will be a tough competition, the Indonesian athletes are expected to perform at their best. "We hope they can at least receive bronze medals," he said, adding that Japan, China and South Korea often win the competition. (*)
